On Retirement

Now that my retirement age has been put back until I’m 97, and I don’t have a loyal bunch of co-workers to wish me well, I’ll probably never get one of these.
The fact that Eileen had to note she was the Telex operator, somehow sadly dissipates the fondness of the farewell, but also dates the card to the glory ‘Telex Years’.
As found in a Kathleen Ferrier LP (possibly the departed’s gift).

On The Greatest of All Days

Quite a moving little note found in a copy of Benjamin Britten’s War Requiem.
“Home
On the greatest of all days.
Darling, May your son be to you always, all the dreams that you have dreamed in your life. As you were to your father, and have been, through so very much, to me.
As always
Me”

Kinky Boots

For some reason someone has felt-tipped a pair of black thigh high boots onto this photograph of a girl at the beach? Found in a Sun Ra LP.
